Timorasso is a unique grape in the Italian world of wine; inherently rich, fresh and powerful. With no need for oak, it is complex and capable of ageing. As one of the few ‘saviour’ producers of the variety, Claudio has some of the best experience with Timorasso that there is.
‘Bricco San Michele’ is a youthful planting that covers 8 hectares on an east-facing hillside in Vho with limestone and clay soils. This cru vineyard delivers a racy version of Timorasso at a ridiculously low price! After a soft pressing, the must goes through a spontaneous ferment in stainless steel. One year of aging on the lees follows with at least 6 months in bottle before release.
The wine is intense, long, persistent, floral and fruity, with a warming sensation on the palate. ‘Bricco San Michele’ is very typical of Timorasso; mineral with notes of chamomile, ripe yellow plums, and toasted almond on the finish. Soft, elegant and concentrated.
