White nectarine and deeper orchard fruit shades float on sleek acidity, expanded by the hidden breath of large format oak. Salty minerals sparkle through the whole thing. The legendary Stéphane and Carine Sérol are the fifth generation custodians of this biodynamic and organically certified estate, producing mouth-wateringly fresh wines from the local, indigenous variant of Gamay, Gamay Saint-Romain. Their plots are densely planted in granite between 400-500m, fermentations are natural and the wines are refreshing, vibrant and mineral. They are masters of whole bunch fermentation and any oak use is delicate and textural. They are our favourite Gamay producer, famed throughout France for their thrilling wines and groundbreaking environmental work in the winery and throughout their vineyards.
